The Old Farmhouse is a delightful sixteenth-century farmhouse dating back to 1569 with an adjoining cottage which once housed the local cider mill. The dwelling which stands in its award-winning garden is said to be one of the oldest of its kind in Sidmouth. Whilst all modern amenities have been provided, the original appearance and character have been carefully preserved.
Quality is the key to your accommodation. Your hosts Susan and Robin, welcome you on the basis that The Old Farmhouse is their home and that their guests should also feel at home.
The personal touch is immediately obvious. No two rooms are the same, although each shares features like beams and curtained alcoves. Pretty prints and baskets of dried flowers give a homely feel, and piece's of antique furniture add to the character of twisty hallways. However there is nothing old fashioned about the amenities. Each individually designed en suite bedroom has tea and coffee making facilities and are non-smoking.
Food is an important element of a successful holiday. Great lengths are taken to organise menus that ensure guests staying for two weeks never have the same meal twice. Delicious old fashioned recipes form the basis of the menus.
